As the weather is changing there is one thing that has always been a problem for me during the winter.
Painfully dry skin. This is mostly an issue for my legs but in general the wintertime is the worst.
Years ago I discovered LUSH and fell in love with their handmade soaps. Also their "King of Skin" lotion bar got me through one of the worst winters for my skin.
Unfortunately I don't want to drive all the way to Easton and deal with traffic and crowds just to buy soap. Plus a bar of soap there is around $16. The second option was to order it online but still there was an expense issue. If anybody wants to buy me some LUSH soap I wouldn't complain but the price is ridiculous.

So I was very pleased to find a place in town that had not only homemade soaps but a comparable lotion bar for around $5. No crowds, costs less and is right here! Harvest @ The Woodward.

Since then I've been following the Mill Creek Homestead products to see what other things they come up with. I would say their soaps have always been good but lately I think they've really improved on their presentation.

When I started using their soap it was one uniform color but still smelled just as good. Now you can tell they've gotten a bit more creative with the design. Also they've added things like shaving bars and pet shampoo.

Harvest @ The Woodward is not only a great place for soap. They also have more types of syrup than you could possibly find pancakes to put on. And bread, vegetables, meat, homemade laundry detergent, local honey, cheese, whole milk...etc.

Speaking of whole milk...let's go back to our winter dry skin problem.
There are probably many things you can try but here is my remedy during the winter months.

Homemade soap
Epsom salt
whole milk
and a lotion bar

As much as needed throughout the winter I'll add a cup of whole milk and a handful of Epsom salt to my bath in the morning. Wash with homemade soap then use the lotion bar. Doing this I don't even need to use cold liquid lotion applied with my freezing cold hands after a nice warm bath. The whole milk here also seems to work better than buying it from Kroger or Walmart.
